Life bestowed this illness upon me. But I chose to walk beside it, not beneath it.
Before cancer, my life was filled with plans I thought I controlled. I was happily in love, in a relationship of over a year and a half, with dreams of marriage, a stable home, and at least one child. I never envisioned a large family, but I always wanted the joy of raising one child.
Professionally, I was on track to become a CPA. I had passed three out of four exams, with one left to go. My dream was to become a partner at a prestigious accounting firm. I was steadily building that future.
Cancer changed everything.
My mom became my pillar of strength. I learned how to accept help, something I had never truly known how to do. My mental health was challenged. There were moments of darkness and doubt, but also profound growth and resilience.
My career and hobbies shifted as I prioritized my health. I learned to listen to my body. I learned that healing requires patience.

The most significant change was my perspective.
What truly matters became crystal clear. I adapted by embracing support, fostering acceptance, and finding new ways to nurture my well-being.
I reached out continuously to family, friends, and fellow survivors. I joined both online and local support groups.
Sharing my journey, and hearing others’ stories, gave me strength during the most difficult moments.
